Matar (Peas) Paneer


Ingredients:
  • Paneer  - 250 gm
  • Peas boiled  - 1 cup
  • onion  - 2 (finely chopped)
  • Tomato  - 3 medium size (Puree)
  • Green Chillies - 3-4 (slit )
  • Bay leaves   - 2
  • Dry Red chilli  - 2
  • Green Cardamom - 3-4
  • Black Cardamom  - 2
  • Ginger Garlic Paste  - 1 Tsp
  • Salt to Taste
  • Coriander Powder - 1Tsp
  • Garam Masala  - 1tsp
  • Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
  • Kasoori Methi  - 1tsp
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder - 1Tsp
  • Cream  - 3-4 Tsp
  • Oil  - 3 Tsp
  • Butter  - 2Tsp

Preparation:

In a pan heat the oil. Add dry red chillies, bay leaves, green cardamom (open it ), black cardamom(open it) and ginger garlic paste. Saute for 1 min.

Add butter, and when it melts add chopped onion. Cook util onion is light brown.

Add tomato puree. Cook for about 10-15 min until it leaves the side (stir in between to avoid burning). Add Salt to taste, Coriander Powder, Garam Masala, Cumin Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Kasoori Methi (crush it with your palms before adding ). Cook the spices for a minutes.

Add water after the spices get cooked depends upon thickness of gravy you want. I added 1 cup water, now add Peas, Paneer and fresh cream .Stir well and cook for about 5 minutes.Add green chillies and stir well.

Serve Hot with Chapati ,Paratha,Naan or Rice.
